NYR TODAY SATURDAY 12/1: Alumni Birthdays, Today in Rangers History

NYR Alumni Birthdays 12/1:

Bob Kirkpatrick C (1942-1943) Al LeBrun D (1969-61,1965-66) Ryan Malone LW (2014-2015)

Today in NYR History 12/1:

1940: Rangers play the Blackhawks in Chicago at Chicago Stadium, the game features four sets of brothers for the first time in NHL History.
Ranger's Lynn Patrick and Muzz Patrick, and Neil Colville and Mac Colville play against Chicago's brother combinations of Max Bentley and Doug Bentley, and Bob Carse and Bill Carse. Rangers lost to Chicago 4-1.

1967: The Rangers acquire cash considerations from the California Golden Seals in exchange for signing rights to Larry Popein.

1996: Wayne Gretzky, Brian Leetch, and Sergei Nemchinov each tally a goal and an assist, and Mike Richter makes 35 saves as the Rangers defeat the Montreal Canadiens, 6-2, at MSG.
Gretzky becomes the first (and still only) player in NHL history to reach the 3,000-point plateau (including playoffs) when he has a goal and an assist in the Rangers' 6-2 win against the Montreal Canadiens at Madison Square Garden. Gretzky finishes his NHL career with 2,857 regular-season points and 382 in the playoffs.
