1930: Bun Cook records a hat trick in a 4-1 Rangers victory over the Ottawa Senators. 


1967: The Rangers win their first game against the Flyers, defeating them, 3-1, in Philadelphia. 


1971: The Rangers defeat the Minnesota North Stars 2-1 at Met Center, improving their Christmas record to 25-11-2, the best of any NHL team. 
The contest is also one of six games on the schedule that mark the last time the NHL plays on Christmas Day.
