1934: For the first time in NHL history, two brothers oppose each other as coaches. 
Frank Patrick gets the better of older brother Lester when the Boston Bruins defeat the Rangers 2-1 at Madison Square Garden


1987: The Rangers trade Paul Boutilier to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for the 1989 5th round pick (#88 Aaron Miller) and future considerations.


1996: Wayne Gretzky tallies a goal and an assist, and Mike Richter makes 39 saves as the Rangers defeat the Hartford Whalers, 5-2, at MSG.
