1926: The Rangers win their first game against the Boston Bruins at MSG, 2-1.


1928: The Rangers acquire Russell Oatman from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for cash considerations.


1971: Brad Park becomes the first Rangers defenseman to record a hat trick when he tallies three goals in a 6-1 Rangers victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins at MSG.


1974: The Rangers play their first game in Washington, and tie the Capitals, 6-6.


1976: Rod Gilbert becomes the second Ranger in franchise history to skate in 1,000 career games as a Blueshirt. Gilbert registers three assists in a 5-2 Rangers victory over the Montreal Canadiens at MSG.


1982: The Rangers host the New Jersey Devils for the first time, defeating them, 4-0.


2001: The Rangers acquire Matthew Barnaby from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for Zdeno Cigar.


2002: The Rangers acquire Josh Green from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for the 2004 conditional draft pick.


2002: The Rangers acquire Mike Dunham from the Nashville Predators in exchange for Tomas Kloucek and Rem Murray.
