1926: The Rangers host the Detroit Red Wings for the first time, and play to a 1-1 tie.


1974: Emile Francis coaches his 605th game behind the Rangers bench, passing Lester Patrick for the most in Rangers history.


1985: Rangers acquire Larry Melnyk and Todd Strueby from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Mike Rogers.


1993: Mike Richter establishes a Ranger record with a 20-game unbeaten streak, defeating the Ottawa Senators, 6-3, at MSG.
