NEW YORK RANGERS POST GAME REPORT

Grabner and Raanta lead Rangers over Edmonton 3-1

Coming into the game down their two top wingers, Chris Kreider (upper body injury( and Pavel Buchnevich (back spasms) and dressing seven defensemen and eleven forwards things didn't look to be going the Rangers way even before the game started. That is until Michael Grabner scored his 9th goal of the season just 1:21 into the opening period. Dan Girardi added a goal in the first when a Kevin Hayes shot deflected in off of Girardi while heading to the front of the net. Edmoton came within one with 1:15 left to go in the first period.

Michael Grabner tallied his second of the game and 10th of the season in the second period to put the Rangers ahead for good. Grabner is now in a five way tie for second place in scoring and leads the NHL in even strength goals.

Antti Raanta stopped 39 of Edmonton's 40 shots on goal earning his fourth win of the season against a young speedy Oilers team.

The Rangers return to action on Tuesday in Vancouver taking on the Canucks in the last of the Western Canada Road Trip.
