NEW YORK RANGERS GAME DAY PREVIEW

After a four day layoff between games the Rangers look to get back on track after a lackluster effort in a loss to Vancouver on Tuesday 5-3 as they get back to work in Calgary to take on the Flames.

Coach Alain Vigneult has shuffled his lines and defense pairings during practice on Wednesday and Thursday but stated that he will wait until game day to make a clear decision.

Vigneault rolled with the following lies and pairs for the last two practices;
Forwards:
Chris Kreider, Derek Stepan, Rick Nash
Pavel Buchnevich, Mika Zibanejad, Mats Zuccarello
Jimmy Vesey, Kevin Hayes, JT Miller
Michael Grabner, Brandon Pirri, Jesper Fast
Defense:
Ryan McDonagh - Dan Girardi
Marc Staal - Brady Skjei
Nick Holden - Kevin Klein

Injured forward Josh Jooris is with the team and skated in a non-contact jersey on Thursday.

This will be the Rangers first game of a four game road trip ending Friday in Columbus against the Blue Jackets.

1991: Completing the future considerations part of the Mark Messier trade on Oct. 4, 1991, the Rangers acquire Jeff Beukeboom from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for David Shaw.


2005:Jaromir Jagr records a hat trick in a 6-1 Rangers victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins.


2007: Mark Messier is inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.


2015: Henrik Lundqvist defeats the St. Louis Blues for the first time in his career, becoming the first Rangers goaltender to defeat each of the Rangers' 29 current opponents.
