NEW YORK RANGERS GAME DAY PREVIEW

NEW YORK RANGERS (9-3-0) VS WINNIPEG JETS (5-6-1)

The New York Rangers will go for their fifth straight win and eighth in nine games tonight when they host the Winnipeg Jets at Madison Square Garden.

The Rangers are also looking to extend another streak, having scored five goals in four straight games and in five of the last six games.

Henrik Lundqvist will get the start for the Rangers in net tonight.

Michael Grabner leads the Rangers in Goals with 7 and is tied for 2nd in the league trailing behind Sidney Crosby for the lead by one and leads the league in even strength goals with 7.

Kevin Hayes, J.T. Miller, Grabner and Nick Holden are all tied for 2nd place in the League plus minus rating with a plus 11.

Derek Stepan and Ryan McDonagh with 9 each lead the Rangers in assists and are also tied for second in the league.

1995: Mark Messier tallies his 500th career goal in a 4-2 win over the Calgary Flames at MSG. Messier’s 500th goal also completed a hat trick in the game.



2008: Chris Drury records his only hat trick as a Ranger in a 5-2 Blueshirts victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning at MSG. 



2011: Martin Biron records his first shutout as a Ranger, stopping 23 shots in a 3-0 win over the Winnipeg Jets at MSG.
