Bob McKenzie of TSN’s Insider Training reported yesterday that the Rangers price for both Rick Nash and Michael Grabner has been set.
The price for Grabner is expected to be just a first round pick in the NHL Entry Draft while a deal for Rick Nash will require a first round pick, a top prospect and another lesser player or prospect or pick in combination with those."
The word is the Rangers are telling teams that they are willing to eat a "pretty healthy portion" of Nash's cap hit to not only facilitate a deal but maximize as many young assets as they can return. Many reports the Rangers are willing to retain 50% of Nash’s remaining contract for 2018.
