1942: The Rangers acquire the rights to Gus Mancuso from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for cash considerations.


1956: The Rangers trade Bronco Horvath to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for cash considerations.


1977: Greg Polis sets a franchise record by scoring two shorthanded goals in a 5-1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks.


1977: Rangers center Phil Esposito becomes the third player in NHL history to score 600 goals. 
He joins Gordie Howe and Bobby Hull when he scores a power-play goal during the first period of a 5-1 victory against the Vancouver Canucks at Pacific Coliseum.


1987: The Rangers acquire Michel Petit from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Willie Huber and Larry Melnyk.


2003: Mark Messier passes Gordie Howe for second on the NHL’s all-time scoring list.
Messier tallies 2 goals including his 1,851st point in a 3-0 Rangers win over the Dallas Stars.
