RANGERS VS RED WINGS GAME DAY PREVIEW 11/9

Rangers Land in Detroit Riding Four Game Winning Streak

New York Rangers (7-7-1) vs Detroit Red Wings (5-8-2)
Little Caesars Arena, Detroit, MI
TONIGHT 7:30 PM TV: MSG, FSDT RADIO: ESPN-NY

The Rangers come into tonight's game riding a four game winning streak that started after a 5-3 win over Montreal on Tuesday night at MSG.

The Blueshirts will be without the services of Mats Zuccaerllo who leads the team in assists with 7 due to a groin injury. Zuccarello did not join the team in their back to back set which starts tonight in Detroit and ends tomorrow in Columbus.

Rookie center Brett Howden will return to the lineup after missing a game due to precautionary measures for an upper body injury. If lines remain the same from Thursday's practice he will take the middle between Jimmy Vesey and Cody McLeod.

Another rookie Center, Lias Andersson will take fourth line duties after making his Rangers debut against Montreal. Andersson will center, fellow first round pick Filip Chytil and Vinni Lettieri.

Jesper Fast seems to be the odd man out tonight as the healthy scratch while Zuccarello, Freddie Claesson (day to day) and Adam McQuaid (IR) will all sit with injuries.

Henrik Lundqvist was already announced as tonight's starter after yesterday's practice.

Mika Zibanejad leads the team in points with 13, Chris Kreider leads in goals with 7 and Zuccarello leads in assists with 7.

Detroit is 4-1 in it's last 5 games and comes in after winning on home ice 3-2 over the Vancouver Canucks. Dylan Larkin leads the Wings in goals , 6 and in points with 15. The assists lead is held by Gustav Nyqvist with 11.

This is the first of three meetings between the Rangers and Red Wings this season.
