RANGERS VS SENATORS POST GAME WRAP UP 11/29

RANGERS BLANKED BY SENATORS 3-0
Blueshirts a No-Show in Second of Home and Home Games

Sad to say there's not much here to say on the part of the New York Rangers. Coming into tonight's game without forwards Mats Zuccarello still suffering from a tweaked groin injury and Vladislav Naestnikov undergoing concussion protocol the Rangers were faced with using 11 forwards and 7 defensemen for there opening of a 2 game trip into Canada.

New York started off the evening using defenseman Brendan Smith on the fourth line withTim Gettinger, cented by Steven Fogarty. The insertion moved Lias Andersson to the wing on the 3rd line with Brett Howden and Jesper Fast and Chris Kreider to a line with Mika Zibanejad and Ryan Strome. The line of Jimmy Vesey, Kevin Hayes and Filip Chytil wa the only line kept intact from the last few previous games.

An early first period goal within the first three minutes from Drake Batherson set the pace of the game for the Senators, riding a 4-3 comeback win over Philadelphia on Tuesday after losing their previous 4 straight. The Sens finished off the night with additional goals from Magnus Paajarvi in the first and a second period tally from Matt Duchene.

The Rangers could not seem to get going since puck drop, having most of their 27 shots on goal being one and done chances with no rebounds or screens in front of Ottawa's Craig Anderson. The only real chance was a puck that crossed the line as Anderson was pushed into the net by his defender shoving Jesper Fast from behind. The replay looked as though Anderson did not have control of the puck which slid under him and in before the referee's whistle blew and as the red light lit. The officials went for a quick review and and came back with the answer that the play stood, No Goal due to incidental contact between Fast and Anderson not being a review able play.

Henrik Lundqvist made 31 saves of 34 shots on goal in tonight's game in his 20th appearance of the season.

The Rangers finish November with a record of 9-4-1 and 19 points.
