RANGERS VS CAPITALS POST GAME WRAP UP 12/8

THIRD PERIOD MELTDOWN FOILS RANGERS 4-2

Coming from behind was a main factor once again for the Rangers having given up the first goal to Jay Beagle just 14 seconds into the opening period. 

Down 2-0 the Rangers managed to make a comeback as Michael Grabner cut the Capitals lead 2-1 scoring in the final minute of the second period. The Rangers struck first in the third period when Jesper Fast put the tying goal past Braden Holtby close to the halfway mark.

Things fell apart with less than five minutes to go when Matt Niskanen put the Capitals back up 3-2 and Tom Wilson put the end to the Rangers hopes skating past Ryan McDonagh and deflecting one past Henrik Lundqvist off of McDonagh's stick.

Lundqvist stopped 36 of 40 shots on goal while the Rangers were only able to cash in 2 on 29 shots on Holtby.
