RANGERS VS SENATORS GAME DAY PREVIEW 12/13

RANGERS VISIT OTTAWA LOOKING TO REBOUND

New York Rangers (16-11-3) vs Ottawa Senators (9-13-7)
TONIGHT 7:00 PM, TV: MSG, RSN Radio: WEPN 98.7
Canadian Tire Centre, Ottawa, ONT, CA

The Rangers and Senators face off for the second of three times this season tonight in Ottawa. In the first meeting the Rangers blanked the Sens 3-0 at MSG. Henrik Lundqvist stopped 20 shots to get the shutout while Kevin Hayes, Michael Grabner and Mika Zibanejad all tallied goals in the contest.

The Rangers are coming off a 2-1 overtime loss at home versus the Dallas Stars. The Rangers will look to rebound from the loss where they didn’t put much effort into the game. Ondrej Pavelec stopped 44 of 45 shots on goal in the contest while Rick Nash scored the lone goal for New York.

The Rangers practiced yesterday but now formal roster has been announced. Mika Zibanejad once again skated with the team as an extra defenseman but will not travel to Ottawa with the team. Instead he will remain in New York and skate on his own. Zibanejad may be cleared for contact by Thursday and resume full practice with the team on Thursday back in his center position.

Ottawa is playing the second of back to back games. Last night they lost to Buffalo 3-2 and now are on a five game losing streak.
