RANGERS VS KINGS GAME DAY PREVIEW 12/15

RANGERS FACE LA LOOKING TO END TWO GAME SKID

New York Rangers (16-12-3) vs Los Angeles Kings (20-9-3)
TONIGHT 7:00 PM, TV: MSG Radio: WEPN 98.7
Madison Square Garden, New York City, NY

The Rangers coming into tonight’s game versus Los Angeles are looking to rebound from two disappointing losses in a row to Dallas and Ottawa. In the loss to Dallas the Rangers could not gain any footing for most of the game but were able to send the game to the shootout picking up one point. In Ottawa the Rangers played an even game with the Senators but fell victim to their own turnovers which has plagued them for most of the season.

Tonight is the first meeting of two games between the Rangers and Kings and the only game at Madison Square Garden this season. Tonight starts another back to back weekend, facing the Bruins in Boston tomorrow at 5 pm.

Michael Grabner continues to lead the Rangers with 15 goals on the season, scoring in Wednesday’s 3-1 loss to the Senators. Pavel Buchnevich continues to stay hot and has 3 goals and 5 assists in the past 13 games after a stretch of 12 points in 12 games.

The Rangers will still be without number one center Mika Zibanejad who has been skating as an extra in practice but has not yet been cleared for contact drills due to concussion symptoms.

Los Angeles who started a four game metropolitan area road trip on Tuesday has been one of the hottest teams in the NHL. On Tuesday the Kings lost their first game in their last 10 games played in a 5-1 thumping by New Jersey.
