RANGERS HEAD TO JERSEY SEEKING 2 PIVOTAL POINTS


New York Rangers (18-12-3) vs New Jersey Devils (19-9-5)

The second place Rangers are looking to gain 2 huge points in the Metro Division standings tonight s they take on the first place New Jersey Devils in Newark. Only 2 points separate the teams who have split the season series so far. 

Tonight is the third meeting of five between the “Cross River Rivals” and the first at the Prudential Center. The Devils took the first contest 3-2 back on October 14th and earlier this month the Rangers defeated New Jersey 5-2 on December 9th. Henrik Lundqvist stopped 26 shots in the contest Mats Zuccarello led the Rangers in the game scoring twice while Jimmy Vesey, Jesper Fast and Kevin Hayes added a goal each.

The Rangers who have won their previous three games are coming off a 4-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks at home on Tuesday. New Jersey defeated the same Ducks team on Monday 5-3.

The Devils have won 3 of their last 5 games having defeated Anaheim, Los Angeles and Dallas while dropping games to the Rangers and Montreal.
