Coming off a 5-2 Win over New Jersey on Saturday, handing the Devils their first back to back loss of the season the Rangers start a stretch of 6 games in the next 9 days.
This is the first of two meetings between the Rangers and Dallas Stars this season and the only contest at the Garden. The Rangers are 7-3-1 in the last 11 meetings with Dallas. Last season the series was split with the Rangers winning in Dallas 2-0 last December while Dallas defeated the Rangers at MSG 7-6 in January.
New York is 7-2-0 in their last 9 games but hold a record of 10-1-0 in their last 11 games at Madison Square Garden dating back to October 26th. Mats Zuccarello who had a 2 goal night vs New Jersey retains the points lead with 24 points.
Dallas comes into MSG tonight on a 3 game losing streak after a 5 game win streak. The Stars start a 4 game east coast trip tonight against the Rangers, Islanders, Devils and Flyers.
The Rangers will still be without Mika Zibanejad who is still suffering from concussion symptoms. Zibanejad haas resumed skating but has not been cleared for contact drills by doctors.
Henrik Lundqvist is slated to get the start tonight, his 16th in the last 17 games. The rest of the Rangers lineup will remain the same as we saw against New Jersey on Saturday.
