1980: The Rangers head to Winnipeg for the first time, and leave with a 3-0 victory.
2006: The New York Rangers retire Mark Messier's No. 11 prior to their game against the Edmonton Oilers. Messier, the No. 2 scorer in NHL history, wins the Stanley Cup five times with the Oilers, then scores the Cup-winning goal for the Rangers in the 1994 Final, giving New York its first championship since 1940.
