DEPLETED RANGERS FALL TO AVALANCHE 3-1
ROAD WOES CONTINUE FOR NEW YORK
It couldn't come at a worse time for the Rangers, already without Chris Kreider, Kevin Shattenkirk, Kevin Hayes and Marc Staal the Rangers lost Michael Grabner for the game due to a bout with the Flu.
Trailing 2-0 in the second period the Rangers got a boost of life when Pavel Buchnevich took a hard pass from Mats Zuccarello and brought the Rangers within one with a power play goal. The Rangers were finally able to gain some momentum but not able to finish against Johnathan Berner.
The Rangers had chances in the third but were again not able to convert while Henrik Lundqvist once again stood on his head making 35 saves on 37 shots. Colorado added an empty net goal with less than a second remaining to earn the 3-1 win and extend their win streak to 9 games.
This was the third straight loss on the road for the Rangers and fifth loss in their last eight away from MSG.
