NEW YORK RANGERS POST GAME WRAP UP: RANGERS vs LIGHTNING 3.13.17

Rangers fall to Lightning 3-2

A rough loss for a tired rangers team coming back from a four game road trip and playing their second game in less than 24 hours. Momentum just wasn't on the Rangers side even though they took a 1-0 lead on Steven Kampfer's first NHL goal. Tampa Bay fought back and tied the game on the power play in the first period and were able to take a 2-1 lead in the second until Michael Grabner tied the game with his team leading 27th of the season. Tampa came out and played hard in the third taking the lead and the win 3-2.

Two missed open net chances by Mika Zibanejad and Pavel Buchnevich hurt the Rangers chances tonight along with Bolts' goaltender Peter Budaj being on his game.

Although giving up 3 goals on 16 shots Antti Raanta played a good game making many tough saves to keep the game tied at many points during the game.

The Rangers are now off until Friday when they take on the Florida Panthers before heading to Minnesota on Saturday for another back to back game schedule.
