Rangers' Comeback Falls Short in Shootout Lose to Pens 4-3

In what was one hell of a comeback ride for the New York Rangers ended in a point in the standings and disappointment from losing in the shootout.

Make it eight straight losses at MSG as the home woes continue to plague the 2016-2017 Rangers. Trailing 2-1 after two periods and 3-1 in the third the Rangers battled back with goals from Nick Holden, Rick Nash and the game tying goal with just eleven seconds to go in regulation by Chris Kreider.

In a back and forth roller coaster of a ride in 3 on 3 overtime the Rangers and Penguins thrilled the Garden crowd with non-stop action with both teams missing on odd man rushes sending the game to the shootout.

It only took two rounds as both Penguins, Kessel and Crosby were able to put one each past Henrik Lundqvist while the Rangers Mika Zibanejad & Mats Zuccarello both went wide on Matt Murray and missed their chances to score.

Henrik Lundqvist looked spectacular for the most part stopping 32 of 35 shots on goal with one of the three regulation goals going in off the back of his head from a side of the net shot by Crosby.

Rangers return to action Sunday hosting the Flyers at MSG.
