Tonight the Rangers look to finish their four game road trip on a high note as they visit the Red Wings for the final time at "The Joe". This is the third and final meeting of the season between the two teams. The Rangers won the last contest in Detroit 1-0 back on January 22nd, Detroit took the first meeting 2-1 on Garden Ice back on October 19th.

Coming in with two out of three wins and four road wins in their past six the Rangers will be without starting Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist.

Announced yesterday, Lundqvist will miss the next 2-3 weeks with a lower body injury (hip) suffered in the first period last Tuesday against the Florida Panthers. Antti Raanta will be handling the load of the games during Lundqvist's absence while Hartford Wolf Pack goalie Magnus Hellbeg will serve as Raanta's backup.

Injured players Michael Grabner and Rick Nash are expected to return to the Rangers Lineup tonight in Detroit while Kevin Klein is still listed as day to day with back spasms. Defenseman Brendan Smith will make his first return to Detroit after being traded to the Rangers just before the trade deadline.

1933: Bill Cook sets a career-high by scoring four goals in an 8-2 win over the New York Americans. It's the 11th and final hat trick of his career, the most by any Ranger. Cook also had five points (three goals, two assists) in the third period, which is still the most by any Ranger in a single period.



1983: The Rangers win their first game in Calgary, 4-1 over the Flames.
