NYR TODAY Monday 3/13: Rangers vs Lightning Preview, Alumni Birthdays, Today in Rangers History

NEW YORK RANGERS GAME DAY PREVIEW

NEW YORK RANGERS (44-23-2) vs TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING (32-26-9)
Madison Square Garden, NYC 7:00 PM TV: MSG, Radio: WEPN 98.7 FM

Coming back home after a successful 3-1 road trip the Rangers host the Tampa Bay Lightning. The third and final game of the season and second in seven days culminates as the Rangers go for the season series sweep. A week ago the Rangers defeated Tampa Bay 1-0 in a goaltending battle which saw Antti Raanta post 38 saves and Mika Zibanejad score the game winner late into overtime. The previous meeting back on October 30th saw the Rangers trounce Tampa Bay 6-1 on Garden Ice.

Coming off an impressive 4-1 win over the Red Wings last night in Detroit the Rangers stood tall in the absence of Henrik Lundqvist. Antti Raanta should get the nod in net once again playing in his first back to back games.

While Captain Ryan McDonagh led the team with two goals, the Line of Hayes, Grabner & Miller once again played a strong game last night garnering a combined 4 points (goal , 3 assists). J.T. Miller picked up his 50th point of the season while Chris Kreider tallied a career high 47th.

The Rangers lead the NHL in Wins with 44 and in Road Wins with 25.

The Rangers lineup should remain the same as against Detroit.
