Rangers fall flat on Garden Ice, Lose to Habs 4-1
Another game where the Rangers started the game out slow and let the opposition take control early on.
With sustained pressure in the Rangers Zone and taking advantage of a defection off Adam Clendening, a misplayed puck by Herik Lundqvist combined with a missed assignment by Ryan McDonagh, a lost puck after a shoulder save by Lundqvist ending in a wraparound goal by Motreal the Rangers were down by 3 goals heading into the third period. The Rangers started a comeback when Chris Kreider scored an early 3rd Period goal but hopes were dashed when Montreal scored from the blueline after a faceoff win which deflected in off Marc Staal's skate in front.
A hard loss to swallow for the Rangers facing a team that they might see in the first round of the playoffs.
The Rangers will now travel to Florida for two games, facing Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday and Florida Panthers on Tuesday.
