NYR TODAY Saturday 11/11: Today in Rangers History

Today in NYR History November 11:

1930: The NHL comes to Philadelphia for the first time. But the Philadelphia Quakers lose 3-0 to the New York Rangers when goaltender John Ross Roach earns his 28th NHL shutout. The Quakers go 4-36-4 and drop out of the League after one season, leaving Philadelphia without an NHL team until the arrival of the Flyers in 1967.

1973: Rod Gilbert scores the 273rd goal of his career, passing Andy Bathgate for first on the Rangers all-time goal-scoring list. Gilbert would add another tally in a 5-2 victory over the New York Islanders at MSG.
