RANGERS LOOK TO WIN FOURTH IN A ROW IN PIVOTAL DIVISION SHOWDOWN


New York Rangers (6-7-2) vs Columbus Blue Jackets (9-4-1)

Looking to extended their win streak to four games in a row and reach the .500 point for the first time this season the Rangers return home to take on the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight at MSG.

Coming off a three game win streak that started versus the Vegas Golden Knights and continued with overtime wins against the Lightning and the Panthers, New York can even their record to 7 wins against their 7 losses tonight against Columbus.

This will be the second of four meetings between the two teams this season and the second t Madison Square Garden. The Rangers dropped the first contest 3-1 in a 42 save performance by Henrik Lundqvist.

The Rangers come into tonight’s contest returning home from a two game road trip which saw two overtime wins against Tampa 2-1 and Florida 5-4.
Mika Zibanejad leads New York with 8 goals and 14 points while JT Miller leads in assists with 11.

Led by Leading points leaders Josh Anderson (5 goals), Artemi Panarin (10 assists) and Seth Jones (11 points) the Blue Jackets are in 2nd place in the Metropolitan Division. Columbus also just finished their own Florida Road trip against the Lightning, a 5-4 shootout loss and a 7-4 win over the Panthers.

The Rangers practiced yesterday using the lines of Chris Kreider-Mika Zibanejad-Pavel Buchnevich, Rick Nash-Kevin Hayes-Mats Zuccarello, Jimmy Vesey-David Desharnais-JT Miller, Michael Grabner-Boo Nieves-Jesper Fast along with defense pairings Ryan McDonagh-Nick Holden, Brady Skjei-Kevin Shattenkirk, Marc Staal-Steven Kampfer. They are not expected to practice today but the extras will skate this morning (Paul Carey, Brendan Smith, Ondrej Pavelec). Henrik Lundqvist is expected to once again get the start for the Rangers.
