RANGERS VS BRUINS POST GAME WRAP UP 11/8

VESEY, RANGERS DOWN BOSTON 4-2 FOR FIFTH STRAIGHT

A 3 goal first period performance by the Rangers was just enough to take down the Boston Bruins tonight at MSG for their 5th straight win.

Pavel Buchnevich opened the scoring for the Rangers near the midway point of the first period but Boston answered back just 21 seconds later when David Pasternak tied the game at one. Just under 5 minutes later the Rangers were up by two goals when Jimmy Vesey tallied two goals within the span of 26 seconds.

The Rangers held onto the 2 goal lead until 6:44 of the third period when Patrice Bergeron cut the lead 3-2. Boston played the majority of the third in the Rangers end but Henrik Lundqvist was able to hold on with 31 saves on 33 shots on goal for the win. Rick Nash tallied the Rangers final goal of the game with an empty net goal in the final minute with Tuuka Rask on the Bruins bench for the extra attacker.
