RANGERS TRAVEL TO TAMPA TO FACE THE LIGHTNING


New York Rangers (4-7-2) vs Tampa Bay Lightning (10-2-1)

The Rangers start a two game Florida Road Trip tonight in Tampa Bay against the Lighting and ending on Saturday in Sunrise vs the Florida Panthers.

In the first meeting of three between the Rangers and Lightning, New York will look to feed off their come from behind 6-4 win on Tuesday against Vegas which saw 6 different Rangers tally a goal. Once again, Mika Zibanejad led the Rangers with a 3 point night along with 2 point performances by Mats Zuccarello and Pavel Buchnevich.

Tampa is coming into the contest with a 10-2-1 record. The Lightning last played Monday, defeating the Florida Panthers 8-5.

The Rangers will be seeing some old familiar faces in the Lightning lineup, former NYRs Ryan Callahan, Anton Stralman and Dan Girardi whom the Rangers bought out in the off season. The Bolts are led by leading scorer Steven Stamkos (18 assists, 24 points) and Nikita Kucherov (13 goals).

Henrik Lundqvist (3-4-2, 3.21 GAA, .898 SV%) who moved into 9th on the all time wins list Tuesday with his 408th career win is slated to start against Tampa’s Andrei Vasilevskiy (10-1-0, 2.46 GAA, .927 SV%).

Captain Ryan McDonagh who took a maintenance day yesterday will be in the lineup tonight. No lineup changes are expected for the Rangers.
