Today in NYR History October 30:

1964 - Emile Francis was named the Rangers' General Manager, replacing Muzz Patrick.

1988: The Rangers and Penguins combine for 292 penalty minutes in a 9-2 Rangers win at MSG. The 292 combined penalty minutes, and the 134 penalty minutes the Rangers had, are both team records. Tony Granato tallies four goals for his first Rangers hat trick in the victory.
