RANGERS COMEBACK FALLS SHORT 5-4

Another bad first period for the Rangers, this time giving up 3 goals within a span of 6 minutes had them fighting back the entire game.

Goals by Pavel Buchnevich, Rick Nash, Mika Zibanejad and Brady Skjei were just not enough for the Rangers to take the win in Montreal. Coming behind from 3-0 and 4-2 deficits and tying the game 4-4 the Rangers could not hold the tie and lost in the third when Montreal's Max Paccioretty buried one past Ondrej Pavelec after a huge rebound was given up by the Rangers netminder.

Zibanejad, Nash and Shattenkirs all picked up 2 points each on the night. Ondrej Pavelec stopped 38 of 43 shots on goal but had trouble keeping the puck under control giving up huge rebounds which accounted for most of the Canadiens gaols.
