RANGERS OPEN 2017-2018 AGAINST COLORADO

The Rangers open the 2017-2018 against the Colorado Avalanche with some new faces in the lineup. Kevin Shattenkirk, Tony DeAngelo, rookie Filip Chyti!, David Desharnais and Paul Carey are expected to make their Rangers debuts.

Henrik Lundqvist will get the start between the pipes for New York while newly acquired Ondrej Pavelec will man the bench in tonight's back up role.

If previous practices are any indication the lines rolling tonight should be the following:

Chris Kreider, Mika Zibanejad, Pavel Buchnevich
Rick Nash, Filip Chytil, Mats Zuccarello
Michael Grabner, Kevin Hayes, JT Miller
Jimmy Vesey, David Desharnais, Paul Carey

While on defense the Rangers should see the pairings of Ryan McDonagh & Kevin Shattenkirk, Brady Skjei & Brendan Smith, Marc Staal & Anthony DeAngelo.
