RANGERS LOOK TO GET ON TRACK VS ISLES
New York Rangers (1-5-1) vs New York Islanders (2-3-1)
Tonight 7:00 PM, TV: MSG, MSG+2 Radio: WEPN 98.7
Madison Square Garden, NYC
Showing signs of life in Tuesday’s overtime loss to the Penguins the Rangers will look to build off the resilience they showed in the second and third periods to pick up their 2nd win of the season. A key factor to the game will be to stop the bleeding early and not allow the Islanders to gain the early lead, a problem that has plagued the Rangers in games this season.
Henrik Lundqvist is expected to get once again get the start for the Rangers while the rest of the lineup is also expected to remain the same as Tuesday’s against Pittsburgh.
This will be the first meeting of four between the Rangers and Islanders this season. The teams met twice in preseason with the teams splitting wins on their home ice. The Rangers won at MSG 1-0 while the Isles took the game in Bridgeport 2-1.
In tonight’s contest the Rangers leaders Mika Zibanejad (5 goals), Mats Zuccarello (5 assists) and J.T. Miller (7 points) will face off against Islanders leaders Casey Cizikas (3 goals, 5 points) and Joshua Ho-Sang (4 assists).
