RANGERS at BLUE JACKETS POST GAME WRAP UP 10/13

LACKLUSTER THIRD PERIOD FELLS RANGERS IN COLUMBUS

What looked to be a solid effort by the Rangers turned sour as a complete 3rd period breakdown allowing 19 shots on goal while only generating 4 of their own put the Rangers down 4-1 on the season losing to Columbus 3-1.

Henrik Lundqvist who was barraged numerous times during the game kept the Rangers in the game allowing 2 goals after Kevin Hayes scored the lone Rangers goal of the contest. Columbus killing off a penalty in the final minutes scored their 3rd goal of the evening on an empty net shot. The game tying goal late in the second came off a deflection in front of Lundqvist that hit off Mika Zibanejad and credited to Seth Jones.

The Rangers caught a break early on when Columbus scored 27 seconds into the game but the goal was disallowed due to goaltender interference.

The Rangers play their second of back to back games tomorrow at the Garden vs New Jersey.
